Do you get HHonors points?

For staying at an HGVC using open season and paying cash? I was in Florida in November and thought I would get points, but they have not shown up yet.

No HHonors points will be posted since HGVC stay is not considered as HHonors activity.

You would only get points if you used your HHonors credit card. However, if you stay at HGVC at the Las Vegas Hilton or HGVC Lagoon Tower, you can bill meals at the hotel to your room and pay with your HHonors credit card to pick up numerous points.

No HH points for Open Season. Sometimes HGVC properties show up on the Hilton Hotel web page and if you book through them you do get HH points.

Darn! I was hoping for points... I know last xmas we did book HGVC Waikoloa and got points, but we booked through HILTON.COM.

I booked SeaWorld at Hilton.com and got points. But, I also used my Hilton CC to pay for it.

I got points!

I also stayed at HGVC SeaWorld booked through the HHonors website that got me points and stay credit. It's worth checking out because the rates for a studio were almost the same as Open Season! (like $62/night; this was last December)

Also, I asked about an upgrade (I'm HHonors Diamond) and was told that they couldn't give me a complimentary upgrade but she offered a discounted upgrade for only $10/night. I already knew that HGVC properties don't offer HHonors elites free upgrades so it wasn't a big surprise... but the $10 offer sounded like a good deal since a 1BR is $20/night more through Open Season! So I went for it and got the one bedroom. And to make it even better... they never even charged me the $10 anyway. lol :whoopie:

Anything reserved through HHonors will get you points. That is a good reminder to check the rates directly through Hilton vs. Open Season. If they are close, it would be better to go with the Hilton reservation due to the HHonors points earned.

Ours was Open Season and a great deal. Using the Hilton.com site would have been much more $$... not worth the difference.

I have been succesfull getting points posted and not using a Hilton CC at both the SeaWorld and Tuscany (I-drive) properties. There seems to be a disconnect with HGVC properties so you have to follow up with them - so keep your folios and you likely will have to request the points missing to HHonors. They also will not credit everything.

If I book open season thru HGVC getting their rates or use points they will not give me any stay credit for any room expenses - but they will give credit for incidentals which we tend to crank up when staying in Orlando when ordering food or drinks or spending bucks at the onsite store. I have also called and stayed a day at Tuscany driving back from South FL - which was NOT booked thru the club and not the club rate - and I have been able to get credit.
