I just returned from Grand Luxxe Neuvo Vallarta.

I don't know what to say that hasn't already been said. The place is simply amazing.

We had my wife and I and two 17 year old boys. We stayed in a 2BR 2.5 bath in Grand Luxxe IV on the second floor. It had a view of the new lagoon still under construction and the Santurario.

We bought the meal plan which was 6 breakfasts and 6 dinners for $235. We ate off property a couple of days. The boys didn't wake up until noon and were too busy to sit down for dinner so we didn't share the plan with them.

One of the highlights was Sayulita Beach. We took a cab and asked him to stay while we surfed and ate. He happily hung out for the extra tip we gave him. We rented boards for 50 pesos for an hour. The water was warm and the surf was small but perfect form. We finished up with a fantastic Mexican meal on the beach under the umbrellas.

The boys are already asking to go back during Spring Break next year and my wife is not objecting.

The only negative was she got nailed by a jelly fish in the water out in front of the Grand Mayan one day. It was pretty nasty looking but it didn't slow her down.

Thanks for the post. I'm so glad you liked it! My sister and her family are going soon, and we'll be there later this year. None of us have stayed in a Mayan property before, but we couldn't pass up the Grand Luxxe weeks when they popped up on II. It looks really wonderful! Any other tips you can offer a first timer there? (This will also be my sister's first time to Puerto Vallarta.)

Did you have any noise issues with Santuario? It's the only thing that has kept me from booking because I figure that exchanges will be put in the rooms facing that direction.

We didn't consider it noise. It was music every evening. Once all the windows were closed, it wasn't really that loud.

Good to know - I'm fine right up to about midnight then I just can't take the bump-bump any more.:D

What was the taxi cost and travel time from the resort? We go a lot to the GL but have never gone there; sounds interesting.

Thanks,
Mike

They stop the music at 11:00 PM. :) We were in the Grand Bliss on the Santuario side one time and could hear the music some, but you could barely hear it with the sliding doors closed.

It is about 30 minutes tops. It's 300 pesos (about $20) one way. I gave him 300 each way and another 300 for waiting.

Well worth it. It was the Mexican version of Leaucadia or Ocean Beach.

Wow!

Here at GL now through July 3. Amazing resort. Beautiful grounds, fantastic amenities. We had a 4th floor room in tower 4 facing the new lagoons and such. Got upgraded to Luxxe villa 2br from a Luxxe MSuite as part of our presentation. Huge room! This is an exceptional experience with great staff. It is a big resort experience with some great personal touches. Yes, hot and humid but kids are loving the pool options! Food had been great on property and reasonably priced. I recommend!

So is this a different resort from what I'm looking at on line that says Grand Luxx Residence Club - it says it's mandatory all inclusive and they pick you up from the airport. I was interested in trying to get a trade in the next year but want to make sure this is the same resort you all are talking about. In Nuevo Vallarta. Thanks

It's Grand Luxxe Residence Club and not all inclusive, but otherwise seems like the same place in Nuevo.

Do you all know if it's possible to trade into a villa? Based on the rave reviews, I'm going to try to trade my 2 bedroom Marriott for a 2 bedroom Villa - I checked and there is a lot of availability for next summer (early July is what I"m seeking and they have July 1 dates available) but they are only suites and not villas - do you know if you can get a villa through a trade? thanks.

I got a 2br via a trade through SFX.

I've gotten them through II.

Thanks - so I'll just wait and see if any come up - I don't want to go until next year. Linda

There was a large deposit a month or two ago - all the way through Jan 2017 if I recall. There were a lot of 2 bedroom units in that deposit. It should honestly be an easy trade with a two bedroom unit. I saw the inventory with a one bedroom deposit.

Kipca. you're talking about villas and not suites? There are lots of availability of suites and I'm wondering if I should reserve one or just wait and hope the villas come available - I don't need it until next summer - June/July.

wow - that's amazing! Also, I need to ask people where the villas are located versus the suites - I've been looking on the GRand Luxxe's website and these are high rises? are the villas separate and located elsewhere - and I've heard people mention different towers? What is the difference in them? Thanks again.

The Villas are the end units in the buildings and regular 2-bedrooms are in the middle.

How can you tell on II if it is a villa or a suite?
