My husband and I are looking into going to South Carolina the last week in April. First time there, so we don't have a clue what part to go to or where to stay. We are owners in Mexico, so this will be a new adventure for us. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I am actually from Georgia but frequently vacation in South Carolina. If you're into historic tours, etc., Charleston is the place for you. If you want the "touristy" area, the Myrtle Beach area is pobably best. Hilton Head is also a great vacation destination. It is kind of in between. There are lots of great timeshares on Hilton Head Island. I've never timeshared in Charleston but it's a great place. Wyndham Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach is great. I've stayed at Watersdie by Spinnaker on HHI. I'm sure that you will find something great in South Carolina. I'll keep a watch on your thread because I'd like to find a new place to visit close by, too. All of the cities that I listed are coastal cities, however, I'm sure there are other areas that might be of interest, too.

I would stay on Hilton Head and do day trips to Savannah and to Charleston.
That way you get to experience two lovely Southern cities, plus Hilton Head is a destination unto itself! Beaufort, SC is also a nice day trip and less than an hour from Hilton Head.

We live in Sun City Hilton Head and think you would find Hilton Head a nice place to visit especially since you can do day trips to Charleston, Beaufort, Old Town Bluffton, Savannah. If you are looking for a timeshare, you may have trouble as the sports season is very popular. There are last minute places that show up. E-mail me before you confirm a location and I'll let you know about it. Myrtle Beach is nice in that there is more shopping than in our area plus they have lots of shows for entertainment. There are theatres on HHI and Savannah but choices in Myrtle Beach are better. The beaches on HHI are very wide and great for walking.
