Good friends of mine bought a week from here back in 2010, but it was through some vacation club. Is that how you had to buy through the resort too?.

I buy and sell frequently at this resort. There are many different types of membership available, some are Globeqwest memberships with very high maintenance fees where you pay $149 annual fixed fee and you only pay maintenance if you use the week; some are float weeks; and some are fixed.

Thanks ada, it was globeqwest nowI remember. They had come back from vacation passed the rescission period, I knew they had a horrible deal, but didn't want to rain on their parade especially since they were stuck. And they knew I had timeshares and never asked me, so I didnt think to bother to even try and save them from "next time." its like talking religion or politics at dinner table, great way to lose friends.

At least they are not on the hook for the maintenance fees if it's a Globeqwest contract they only pay the small annual fee, and they don't pay maintenance if they don't use the week. Usually they sell those membership types for 10-20k. So perhaps they didn't spend all that much; the traditional ownerships one winter week per year two bedroom annual use sold for as much as 30k or more, those are more valuable as they have manageable maintenance fees.

It's a beautiful resort with great location. Customer service/management is not so good and there are some staff issues, but the rooms and the location and views are beautiful.

yes its a very nice place, my only complaint would be they have no beachfront property as its that beach bar in front thats always blasting music.

I agree you have to go down through the security gate. We stayed there first week of March and there were hundred of wasted college kids on the beach in front of the resort - I was actually glad this time that the security gate and pool/beach divide was there, lol. But I agree that in general the beach access / divide is annoying.
