Hello. I just exchanged in a 4BR unit at the Barrier Island Station in Kitty Hawk for the last week of September. I have a few questions:

1. 4BR - Anyone have any idea of the layout of the 4BR. I can't find any information on 4br units besides they sleep 10.

2. How many units are in each building? Could a 4BR possibly be the whole house/building?

3. I will be traveling with toddlers and older parents...are the steps really that bad?

4. Any small kid activities in the area?

5. Is the walmart a 'super' walmart that sells food?

Any other information on the resort would be appreciated.

Question 5: The Wal Mart is a full service Wal-Mart store, selling food, toys, sporting goods, etc.

Question 4: They have a very nice indoor and playground for small children. Plus an outdoor pool, tennis courses, horseshoe pitts, bocce ball, volleyball, and a nice fitness center. Mosquitoes may be a problem in the evenong. About a mile from the resort is a beach, The Wright Brothers National Memorial, deep-sea fishing, some fantastic golf courses, great restaurants, a small water park, parasailing, power boating, two outlets malls, a Food Lion Grocery Store, local and national restaurants.

Question 3. Yes there are steps and they can be a problem. This is a nice resort but it is not locate on the beach. It sit behind the Wal-Mart on Cypresss Knee Trail.

Question 2: We had a 3 bedroom unit once and they called it an AB unit.
Occupancy: Maximum 10; private 08. That was not the whole building.

Call Owner Services and they will tell you exactly how many steps and if it is all one building. My hunch is that it is probably a lock out 2/2. It is a lovely resort but it is not on the beach in fact about a mile away and it can be very hot and humid there. There outdoor pool was great, nice and warm when we were there in late Aug (probably from the sun). Most barrier island units have many, many steps. Call the resort number and ask for owner services.
