I,m actually getting to use our OBX timeshare this year - the first time in about 5 years. I thought it would be interesting to see who people think have the best:
steak
seafood
ribs
pizza
kayak tours
miniature golf
anything else you care to list "the best of".

I'll start with seafood - I haven't been there, but have been told the Collington Inn, (I think), has the best, and that is where the locals go. Our son used our ts 2 years ago, and he went twice.

Anyone else want to "play"?

Ron

OK what is OBX? No offense, but I am curious how many people know what you are referring to. Also, again no offense, why couldn't you add a better description if you want people to play?

No offense Harvey, but if you don't know what it means, you are not qualified to play anyway. And google is your friend .

I was very pleasantly surprised by the great steak I had at the Outer Banks Brewing Station a couple years ago - we only went for the entertainment and really did not expect the food to be so good.

And yes, everyone who has ever been to the Outer Banks (or anywhere near there) would most likely know what OBX is.

Good meal

at Chili Peppers earlier this month. DH enjoyed the meatloaf on a cool, rainy day and I had some excellent pasta. Also, loved the fried oysters at Darrel's on Roanoke I.

Did not like the Froggy Dog.The food was mediocre & they were understaffed the nite we were there. We were seated close to the kitchen and as we were leaving heard someone in there very loudly yelling and berating an underling. I couldn't resist my loud parting remark- "Hell's Kitchen- coming up next!" People near us laughed and the kitchen became deadly silent.

Seafood
- buy your own at Austin Seafood by Jockey's Ridge and cook at home
- Nags Head fishing pier is very rustic, but great fried seafood
- Collington Cafe is very good

Other Restaurants I recommend
- Goombays

We really like OBX. One of our favorites is Tail of the Whale. It's a little past Nags Head but a nice ride and not too far. When we had dinner there we sat outside on the deck while waiting for a table and listened to live music. It was great and entertaining while having to wait. Also had a drink. Yummm!:D

Our favorite seafood restaurant on the banks is Millers, it's family run and owned for as long as I can remember. They have two locations, the nicest is on the sound right before you take the causeway to Manteo. They give you a basket of hush puppies as you sit down that are delicious. The sound side has a beautiful view of the water just from just about any table.

If you miss a meal at the Lone Cedar you will be missing out and for ribs and steak you just have to stop Jokey's Ribs - they are the best! We also love the Kill Devil Grill on Beach Rd. - if you like wings - they have some of the best!

We go down at least once a year if not twice!

Once you go you will have the OBX bug!!

A really good source of information is the OBX connection board which will help ya out alot! Very informative and friendly!

Enjoy your trip!
