I purchased a timeshare on eBay and the closing company is Title Outlet. I offered to do some legwork since the property is close to home. They don't allow it due to issues in the past. Is there a way I can find out what step the process it at right now? Maybe by calling the registrar of deeds or by calling the property to see if ownership has been transferred? Title Outlet has been very quick with all the paperwork thus far...

Can you tell I'm a little anxious:) I want to bank the week asap to see what it can pull on RCI.

Many thanks!

When We Got Antsy, We Contacted The Closing Agency & The Timeshare & RCI.

How can I find out what step my closing it at?
We bought a dinky eBay triennial points-timeshare this past summer. After a few weeks we got to wondering how matters stood with the transfer of ownership (deed, resort transfer, RCI Points transfer, etc.).

We were in touch with the closing services agency (which also happened to be the eBay seller) via E-Mail. The person handling our case was consistently responsive & informative.

Not wanting to be pests or to wear out our welcome over such a dinky purchase (just $162), we didn't always E-Mail the closing services person. At 1 point after we received the original copy of our newly recorded timeshare deed, I called up RCI Points to see if our recent purchase had registered with them. Not yet, they said.

By & by I called the timeshare's owner services office & was informed of a problem with the transaction which caused the resort to return some documents to the closing services agency for correction. By the time I could follow up on that, the error (whatever it was) had been corrected & we were officially good to go with the timeshare resort & with RCI Points.

All's well that ends well.

We, too, are waiting on a closing via Title Outlet. They sent an email last week advising the deed had been sent to the county office for recording, which we were told could take up to 4weeks. Since then I checked the online deed records on a daily basis to see if our names were showing up. Finally, our deed showed up last Friday - 4 business days later! Now we just have to wait for the resort to transfer ownership to us and we can start depositing our week :D

See if the county where your new timeshare is located has an online records/deed search available. Otherwise, you can contact the person handling your closing. I've found the folks there to be really responsive.

Hope that helps.

Jose and his employees would be happy to give you an update.. But understand that they handle a ton of transactions as a closing company for some of the post card resellers..

It's a great idea to also check the county records frequently.. Often, the online copy will be available long before the original is returned to the closing agent. Emailing them a copy can sometimes reduce your transfer time by about a month.. Most closing agents check themselves, but this is a technique that is easily forgotten if you aren't pushing them to get the closing done as quickly as possible.

Congrats on your purchase!

Thanks for all advice. I wouldn't have thought this county has their deeds online but they do. It has yet to be recorded but I sure will be checking frequently! All of my dealings with Title Outlet have been very good and they are quire responsive so far:)

We are pretty excited to figure out how this whole ts thing works!
