We are considering just giving our TS away if someone would just take over the maintenance fees. Do I need an atty to transfer ownership of a TS? Should I be lucky enough to get someone to take this off my hands, what should I have already prepared in terms of paperwork, etc.? I would like to post this TS ASAP. Im just afraid of doing illegal without knowing. All comments welcome, just give it to me straight...thanks

Did you look at the STICKY in the box above your posting. It's called Selling Your Timeshare. Pretty much everything applies. Depending on what you own and where the new owner is, it could go from VERY EASY to EXTREMELY DIFFICULT. (P.S. If it's a WorldMark, I would be glad to talk to you about taking it off your hands!!). Your main concern will be to make sure the new owner transfers ownership in their name and gets your name off the records. I can only tell you (1) NEVER pay anyone an upfront fee to list it and (2) you may have to sweeten the pot-so to speak- if there are resort transfer fees or similar. There are relatively inexpensive agencies that will prepare your deed (again, if you are giving it away to someone who lives where you live, just change the names and dates to protect the innocent ) They are also listed in the STICKYS. Good luck! Also, if you go to the sub forum BARGAIN DEALS you will find a STICKY that answers your question about How to Give Away Your TImeshare!
