WestGate Palace, Orlando - FREE

We own a WestGate Palace floating week in Orlando, FL. It is 1 mile to Universal Studios/Disney. We always walked, so it is very convenient. The timeshare is fully paid off and 2014 maintenance fees are PAID IN FULL!

The floating week can be used any week except 4th of July and Christmas. The maintenance fees are $750 annually.

Here is there website: http://westgateresorts.com/palace/

There is no current reservations. The unit is 2 bedroom/2 bath/sleeps 6. Nice Jacuzzi in one of the bedrooms. It's a waterfront (lake) room and comes with the ability to buy discount tickets to any theme park/resort in Orlando.

We will pay transfer costs as well.

Is this still available? do you have any pics of the view from the room? Also, can you tell which timeshare company this is with and which it can exchange with?

Not to rain on the seller's parade, but be cautious on this. Westgate strips the bonuses from resales, charges much extra for exchanges ($450 iirc) and only allows reservations inside something like 60 days before move-in (based on availability?!?!)

Be sure what perks transfer. Sometimes 'free' just isn't enough.

Yes, this is still available though we have received interest from some.

This timeshare has no bonuses, so that's irrelevant. It 1 floating week a year, precisely.

Id id forget one perk: you can exchange this to any other WestGate resort in the USA for only $150. We have done this a few times and it was very nice.

With all due respect, full disclosure may be required. Your perks may not transfer to a new buyer. Many people have complained that as a resale buyer they could only book a floating week 60 days in advance and internal exchanges were not $150 you are using as a selling benefit but rather $450. A prospective buyer would need to know this. You are giving away your week with your perks in tack. If there are indeed serious restrictions to a resale buyer then the unfortunate truth is that it may very well be worth less than zero.

You should fully understand what it is you have to sell. I would recommend calling Westgate and getting answers as to what a buyer actually gets (or not gets) if you sell your week to them. Nothing would make us all feel better than knowing that Westgate has come to their senses and eliminated the resale "punishments". Destroying what little resale value their product has (through resale restrictions) is not good for ANYONE, Westgate included.

For anyone interested in this, maybe you can get around the $450. internal exchange fee by depositing your home week into a smaller exchange company instead. I don't know if Westgate has any specific rules against doing that, but it would save about $300. in exchange fees.

one other point. this is a floating week/floating unit. there is no guarantee of a water view. standard units are on the parking lot side. Deluxe units are on both the water side and the parking lot side. Water views (odd # rooms) can be requested but are not guaranteed.
also there are 7 fixed event weeks that floating weeks can not be exchanged into. 7,8,12,13,26,51,52
