I'm thinking about getting a Wyndham TS on resale. But I can't seem to figure out the extra fees (the fees beyond MF.)

And how do you figure out how many points to buy? We don't travel during peak seasons at all. And we often travel very last minute.

Do you travel primarily over weekends and when you travel, how many days do you average? If you book one trip at a time and usually use 2 or 3 days at a time, you will end up with additional transaction fees and housekeeping fees.

If you often travel very last minute, are you sure timesharing will work for you? It's generally suited best for those that plan at least 11-13 months in advance.

In a perfect world we would travel mid week. We fly standby so we sometimes have to slide things around according to loads. We've been going to Disney lately and I rented nights at a 2BDRM Bonnet Creek for $100 per night. I can't quite figure out where break even is or if I should just rent someone else's points.

to determine what you need, review the directory

You have a lot of study to do before you decide on a timeshare.

If you rented a 2 bedroom at BCR for $100 a night, you did better than you would have done paying MF on the points that would have reserved that unit.

Yes. Depending on the season you're traveling and where you own, a non-VIP owner would cost roughly between $70 and $148 for a mid-week 2 bedroom. Friday and Saturday would be $130 to $245 per night.
