I am trying to figure out exactly what 7000 points at Lake Geneva is worth (not money wise, but usage). I have tried speaking with Orange Lake, and I am not sure if they or westgate are the worst.

I was under the understanding that Marcus Vacation Club points no longer exist and they are now Holiday Inn Vacation Club Points. With a point total of 7000, that does not make sense because HIVC points are double the rci allotment, roughly.

Is there anyone that can shed some light on what this ownership actually is?

Thanks in advance,
John

Lake Geneva has RCI point ranges of 19,000 for a 1BR in low season to 79,000 for a 2br during Christmas week. You can see the value of the week you're looking at by going to RCI website, and searching the online resort directory (you don't have to be a member to see this). You would need to know the underlying week to get useful information.

I don't know about the original points program as Lake Geneva, and I don't know if your purchase would automatically convert to Holiday Inn points, or if it would revert to the deeded week, or what - Orlando weeks sold originally as fixed weeks and converted to points don't remain in points when resold - the new owner has to pay the conversion fee again. Looks like you have some research to do.

7000 Marcus points is worth approx 87000 Holiday Inn points. If you use the Holiday Inn website to book reservations they list the points needed for a specific week.

Marcus points are worth 12.5 HI points and 7.5 RCI points per point. Otherwise taking your points x 12.5 gives you the HI equivalent and x 4 gives you the RCI equivalent.

There are 4 seasons at Grand Geneva from Value to Summer.

Example of points costs on a 2 bedroom is

Value 97000
Prime 135,000
Peak 195,000
Summer 244,000

If you book in the 11-13 month there is no trans fee otherwise its $49.

I hope that helps.
