Hi. We need to get to Waikiki from Honolulu airport and also from the hotel to the cruise ship terminal. We will be 4 people, me, DH, daughter and granddaughter (adult). Can anyone recommend a good company to use? Not sure if the taxis at the airport could handle the luggage for 4 people without advance notice.

You can also check the website for the airport. They will usually have transportation options there.

Thanks, Dave. Any others? I thought I saw some negative reviews, but will check them out.

The airport shuttles follow a route for drop off, people on the end of the route usually complain about how long it takes. If you want direct trip to the hotel, take a cab. We stay at HHV, the last trip we took on Roberts was a luau, we were last picked up, but first to get off.

The cruise ship terminal is midway between airport and waikiki, so it may be best to take a cab for that trip, they have minivan cabs to handle 4 with luggage.

Okay Luanne. That's a good idea.

Dave, I think maybe I'm overthinking this so am not going to spend too much more time on it.

I'll definitely follow up on both suggestions.

Has anyone heard of A8? Seems as though they are a cab company that you can book in advance.

In December, when we used a shuttle to get from HHV to the airport, we used speedishuttle, which HHV arranged for. On the way, they dropped some people off the cruise ship terminal.

From the HHV web site:

"
SpeediShuttle is the only authorized on demand shuttle service provider at the Honolulu airport and has greeters stationed throughout the terminals. They are also the only airport shuttle that can drop off and pick up guests in the Main Lobby at the resort ...

Now, one advantage of a cab is that they won't charge you per-person.

You'll have to run the numbers.

I've used Ilima Tours very successfully, to get from HNL to Waikiki and back. Very prompt, and very affordable. http://www.ilimatours.com/

I was given this flyer when we were in Waikiki in May. The rates seem reasonable. Didn't use them though.

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for all the help. We finally went with SpeediShuttle and got all our transfers done. Now on to enjoy our vacation.
