How did they talk anyone into buying those Harborside at Atlantis timeshares. They have a $3000/year MF!!! Even if you really believe that you will go to the Bahamas EACH and EVERY year, you are still borderline on costs. The Atlantis resort is super expensive, but to spend a guaranteed $440/night for 7 nights every year (not to mention the amortization of the actual TS purchse).

If I owned that, how could I EVER justify trading it. There is no other TS in the world that can't be rented for a week for less than $3000. I just don't understand it.

When we toured them (for a $75 voucher at the Atlantis) I didn't even like them. No beach, no view, crammed together, not for me.

The top dog timeshares are too expensive to use as traders, and people buy them to use them every year. There are a number of Starwood resorts in that category. Rentals are also very expensive at Harborside Atlantis - check it out at atlantisfamilyfun.com

Those resorts are obviously not for bargain hunters, but the MF's didn't start out being that high. I bought at the Starwood Maui resort in 2002 and the maintenance fee has increased $1,200 since then. (From $1,100 to $2,340.) Starwood owners are VERY unhappy with the escalating maintenance fees.

Maintenance fees are high but there is no other Timeshare that has amenities like Harborside Atantis.I don't own there but it is hands down the best resort I've been to yet.I like different resorts for different reasons but I like everything about Harborside.
