We are trying to get an exchange using RCI for the end of February. All the resorts I have entered have a 'freeze on these dates' message so I called RCI to ask what that means. The agent told me that they are trying to accommodate exchanges already in place for Grand Suites at Caravanserai due to the auction and the fact that the new owners are not acknowledging RCI exchanges. All of the resorts in St. Maarten are in a 'freeze' for new exchanges until the others are accommodated. I don't have a problem with that but thought I would post here so that others who are trying will know why the exchanges are not coming through.

Still trying

So I called RCI to find out if they have placed all the RCI exchanges yet and they told me the freeze is on indefinitely. I am trying to find something in Simpson's Bay for the end of February. My husband now has a handicap and we are currently booked for the Cottage de Lonvilliers but from what I have read, he will have difficulty there. He can walk, but hills and steps can be a problem. Anyone have any advice?

St.Maarten

Hi

I have stayed at Royal Islander La Plage in the past because it accommodates my wheelchair needs very nicely. Also the staff are very helpful and pleasant.

Good news!

Looks like they are freeing up some of the units around the island. We were able to trade to Simpson's Bay Resort and Marina for the first week in March and there are other units available 01 Feb, so maybe the crisis is over. Glad to see that SBR&M has a shuttle bus to get to the top of the hill. Does anyone have experience with using it?
