I don't have a Wyndham account yet & am in the process of buying my first points deed.

The seller says the 2014 points have not been used yet & has no use for them. However, I'm assuming there's no way I can get things set up in 7 weeks in order to at least throw these points into RCI.

Are there any options for me? Or will these points just disappear on December 31st before I get a hold of them?

I won't; just hoping I can make a decent deal even better.

Bummer.

I've never done it, but if the seller deposits them to RCI will they transfer over?

Call Club Wyndham and ask them for assistance and tell them your situation.

It never hurts to ask and find out what your options are?

Once Wyndham says they have received your paperwork (since you have expiring points involved) ask if they could get a supervisor to put notes in to rush or something...?

Good luck!

If the seller has only only one contract, there is a chance that the RCI points will transfer. If the seller has multiple Wyndham contracts, and is only selling one to you, the RCI points will remain in the seller's RCI account.

Get the contract number from the seller and ask if this is the only contract in the seller's Wyndham account. Wyndham generally will not give information to anyone other than the current owner. The seller has to get the information for you from Wyndham on this contract.

Getting RCI points through a Wyndham purchase has been more of a pain than a benefit for me.

Just finished closing 2 contracts in the last 10 days, both came with free 2014 points.

We were new to Wyndham so we had no membership number.

Our first contract took 7 weeks to the day from the date that Wyndham received the new deed and transfer fee. Our second contract only took 3 1/2 weeks. We also had 252,000 points from 2014, so I called owner care and told them I needed the a RCI account set up so I could deposit the points and they had it done in less than 24 hours. Make sure that the 2014 points come with the housekeeping credits and a transaction credit , this required more phone calls to owner care to get them reinstated, but they did ! :). Good luck !

If Wyndham proceeds at the end of 2014 in the same fashion as it did at the end of 2013, the transfers will be completed in weeks, not months.

The last time I talked with Wyndham Title Services I asked if they allocated more resources at the end of each year to flush through outstanding transfers. I was told, "Oh no," but I still feel that we will see transfers being done more quickly until the end of December. Then in January 2015, we will be back to the 6-8 week transfer times.

It certainly makes sense to me that Wyndham will do whatever is needed to get those 2015 maintenance fee bills out to new owners as quickly as possible. Once we are into 2015, then the rush to get January 1 maintenance fees will be over.

We will see if the transfer times shorten throughout November and December, and then return to their longer times.
