I just saw an update on the arrest and prosecution of a boiler room telemarketing scheme out of Orlando that was targeting timeshare owners.. The group used a few different names including JAMS Management and Vacation Property Network LLC.. The full story can be read at http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news...eshare-telemarketing-scam-20150325-story.html.

This is a great reminder to continue to follow Brian's mantra- "Report, report, report.." Many of these con artists do face the music eventually- although it takes a very long time.. This story first broke in May of 2011.. Almost four years later, about half the people arrested are being charged with mail fraud and could face up to 30 yrs in prison.

Also, it looks like we are truly making progress in getting authorities and the media to properly refer to these crimes as telemarketing schemes instead of resale scams! There is a very noticeable difference in the terminology used in the two stories. This update focuses on "telemarketing scheme".. The reporter used "timeshare scam" in his title, but it appears the release did not include that terminology at all..... A big thank you to the Florida taskforce on helping with that change!
