I have an EOY even 2bd SDO. I had 2016 split and deposited to II. I just tried to do an instant exchange for June 2016 and it said I had to renew my membership. My current II membership doesn't expire until Aug 2016.

I called II and was told Starwood deposited a Dec 2016 week. So, if I want to book ANYTHING at all, I have to renew my membership past Dec 2016.

I just renewed my membership to 2016 and now I need to do it again and add another year?

Starwood deposits a "blended" week and I doubt very much that a specific deposited Dec week was tied back to your account. I suspect II has its own rules that says if you are depositing a 2016 week, then your account in II must be paid up through Dec 31st 2016.

You may also want to try to book onlne and see if it goes through or call back and speak with a different agent.

I don't think that is true. I think sometimes there are glitches and it asks you to renew even when you don't have to. Try again and if still no luck call II again and ask again. If you get no where call again and say you are having tech problems booking online.

I have run into this renew situation twice in the past 2 months. I did call to book what I needed, but it is annoying.
