Considering another Wyndham purchase, but it has an April 1 (current one ends March 31, 2014) use year vice my current use year that ends December 31. Considering how long these transactions take to go through, I doubt I will be able to get the transfer prior to the current one ending on March 31, 2014.

I am considering asking the seller to pool the 2014 points (after purchase, get on a CONCALL with Wyndham and I'll pay the $39), but I did not know if pooled credits transfer as such upon resale. My guess is that they do, but I wanted to be sure before bidding.

Can anyone provide guidance on how this could/should work?

Thanks in advance!

Can anyone who bought resale attest to pooled credits transferring over?

The forum search brings up a lot of extraneous threads (mostly about Worldmark credits) or those that correctly mention the credit pool do not cover resale (or vice versa).

In transferring contracts out of an account, there are ways the person making the transfer can structure the points to be transferred to the new owner if there are multiple contracts. All remaining points of any nature will transfer out of the account when the last contract is transferred to another account.

The term Wyndham uses is re-stack. Points can be attributed to different contracts by Wyndham.

If you are buying from a timeshare re-seller, be sure to have the number of points coming with the contract specified that way it becomes a negotiated issue and not one where the seller has the option of transferring a deed with the current or future years points missing.

I know someone who bought re-sale then find out the points had been stripped from the contract.

It worked for me twice. once I requested that the points be pooled since it was close to end of year. I paid the fee and it was in my contract with seller. second times I was surprised to find pooled points that seller had not even mentioned!

Thanks for the info. Sounds like they should transfer (just about a given if the seller is selling his/her last Wyndham contract), but just make sure. At the very least, someone searching "resale and pooled credits" will have this thread jump to the top.

Was that for a brokered deal or was it direct between the seller and yourself?

Prior to bidding for a contract on Ebay, I asked a broker if he would ask the question of the seller if they would entertain such a thing and he flatly said, "no." I can understand if he wanted to wait until after seeing if I was the actual winner (and I fully understand the "cannot guarantee" excuse, but he could have just said that vice being less than helpful and having me to continue to press him on the matter.

I am guessing in any case that you did a CONCALL with the seller and Wyndham to pay the $39?

The contract which had the unexpected points was an e bay sale and the seller had other contracts so I was surprised.

The other purchase was via a broker that sells on eBay also but I dealt with him outside of eBay (his website).
