What to do with a few left over points?

I have a minimal amount of Wyndham points expiring this year; wouldn't it be nice if Wyndham offered a "gift shop" of sorts so members with a few left over points could "spend" them there? I was given a Wyndham cooler once, and it has seen better days, it would be nice if I could get another one, or a ball cap, or a pen. Hate just losing points, I'd rather be ripped off in a gift shop.

I have 4700 points remaining this year, and I don't think there is anywhere I can get a night for them (within 100 or so miles of Va Beach, VA). What can be done with them?

Any ideas? :ponder:

That is about $30 or so in MFs.

Do you have extra Hks or RTs? Or will you have to part with some cash to book a 2 or 3 night escape?

One popular way, is to book something that costs enough to deposit into RCI (27K?). You borrow enough points from the 2015 Use Year, cancel the reservation and then deposit the cancelled points into RCI.

You could make a matching donation to the Red Cross via Wyndham's program that is operative this month

"In honor of our newest redemption partner, we are matching up to one million points donated to the American Red Cross, now through December 31, 2014. Redeem as little as 3,000 points for a $15 donation, and we will match that amount!"

That was contained in an e-mail last week
