Has anyone heard of "Transferonthespot?"

Friend going to a presentation on selling her T/S, can't get her not to go.

Heard of? Yes .... Believe in? No

Just another PostCard Company. I believe it's a spinoff of the MacMillans of Torrance, CA (also of Timeshare Relief fame / infamy).

They aren't "buying" anything. They are instead collecting $3-4k or more for the dubious effort of (...maybe) taking the timeshare off her hands.

Last but not least, there is really no such thing as a "transfer on the spot" anyhow. No transfer of deeded ownership is completed until such time as a new, valid deed is recorded in a new owner's name. This particular PCC may or may not even plan to do that --- some instead just obtain signature on a Power of Attorney, in order to (...maybe) later sell the week off if they can. If they can't, take a wild guess who will then still be the owner of record several years down the road...

Transfer on the Spot will want $3-$5K from your friend to take the timeshare. I call it a scam, but you would be surprised how many people pay it. Your friend will hear a whole spiel about the nightmare of owning a timeshare. It's really a waste of time, if your friend was expecting to get cash.

Thanks to both of you for your quick response. She has canceled her appointment and will now join TUG. Hopefully I'll have another person join this week also.

YEAH TUG!
