Hi,
I recently purchased a 2 bdr at Plantation Resort Villas (weeks 20-38 floating) located in Surfside Beach, SC. I checked tripadvisor and some of the reviews were good, while others were pretty bad. The sales rep checked TUG reviews for me and she said there were no recent (within the past couple of years) for this resort either. Though I was a little worried by that, I negotiated what I thought was a pretty good price and will probably try to make a reservation there as soon as we finish closing. I think my deed says the unit is in building #229, which according to the sales rep is in the Presidential Villas. She said she would reverify this info for me but she hasn't gotten back to me yet.

Have any of you ever been there? If so, any suggestions on which unit to choose and which to stay away from? Overall, what did you think of the place?

We own there also. We bought a 2 br floating lockout for $1600 in 2001. We have made good trades with RCI and have been there twice. It is not on the beach but a very nice property. The MF are going up quickly but for a lockout it still works for us.
We bought because we would use it each year if RCI ever quits working for us.
Enjoy!

Thanks so much for the reassurance! I was beginning to think NO ONE had ever been there before. Either that, or it was too bad to even mention!:D

We own 1/4 of a condo right next to Plantation Resort. It is well maintained and the pool is beautiful! The children's are is super - a large pool that goes from 0" to 18" for toddlers, a lazy river and a water area with play equipment in it.

The staff has always been helpful - the rec area is nice, the indoor pool was refurbished last year and the fitness area was updated last year too.

Altho not on the beach - we enjoy the area as it is known as "The Family Beach" and the area is very friendly, relaxed and low key. No where near as crowded as Myrtle Beach . . . hope you enjoy it!
