My daughter and sil has the opportunity to spend a week at the Manhattan Club in June with his parents. They have a daughter and she will be 9 months old at the time. The parents will mainly be doing thier thing and the kids will be on thier own for the most part. They dont know if they should go or wait for another opportunity when they can either get a babysitter or the daughter will be older?

What are your thoughts?

Here are my thoughts:

1. New York is very stroller friendly so no problem getting around.

2. Will the parents watch the baby a couple of times so they can take in a show?

3. Otherwise, there are lots of things to see with baby in tow...such as the museums and various tourist attractions. They can also take baby to the Central Park Zoo, or even the Bronx Zoo if they are ambitious. Both are fun for adults too.

4. If the two couples plus baby are staying in the one bedroom at the MC, it will be a tight squeeze. The studio will be even squeezier.

I think it really depends how far away they live and what they are expecting from the vacation. If they already have the unit and don't mind a squeeze, then why not?

I don't see why they shouldn't go. It depends what they want to do. It is easy to get around the city on foot with a stroller, and the baby will love all the stimulation. It will be warm enough to spend some time in Central Park and they can take her to the zoo there. There are a lot of kid friendly restaurants. They might miss out on some of the more adult restaurants, though. Will the mother-in-law be able to watch the baby at all to let them have a night out while they are there and maybe go to a show?

Check out gocitykids.com for more suggestions on what to do there with kids.
