I recently started collecting the Nat'l Park Cancellation Stamps and will be visiting the Boston area soon. These are the Parks/Sites I would like to visit, but want to know if I can combine any, and I am looking for the most efficient way to do that. We can take public transportation or rent a car a couple of days.

Any comments and suggestions is appreciated. I thought the first two would take a day each.

Boston National Historical Park
Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area
Boston African American National Historic Site
Longfellow National Historic Site
John F Kennedy National Historic Site
Frederick Law Olmsted National Historic Site
Adams National Historical Park
Saugus Ironworks National Historic Site
Salem Maritime National Historic Site
Minute Man National Historical Park
Lowell National Historical Park

Might be overly ambitious to do them all in one trip.

I'd Google each one and see where it is located on a map. Then determine those that are downtown and those that will require a car.

Then maybe determine a priority for each site.

:hi:

I enjoyed the Minute Man Park and spent time in both Lexington and Concord so I think that one needs a whole day.
My memory of the Kennedy Historic Site was just some plaques and other signs.
Lowell is further north, and looked interesting, but i haven't been there.

I think NKN's advice about locating them on a map is good. I have not heard of some of them. I do know that several are not in Boston and will require a car or else some time consuming public transportation. Good luck and have fun!

Thanks for your replies.

Two are in Brookline, so plan on visiting both of those the same day. Longfellow National Historic Site just re-opened in May, so that may be busy also.

Thanks!

If you do the Lexington/Concord trip, tour Buckman's Tavern, my husband's ancestors.
