Has anyone Rented a Gazebo at WKORV?

My daughter is turning 18 during our vacation to Maui and I thought as a present I would get her a gazebo for a day.

Has anyone rented these or the cabana's and if so do you recommend...It seems like there is about 10 different choices on the gazebo's via different locations...any help would be greatly appreciated.

Gazebo

We are here now and rented a Gazebo. They are $125 a day. You can rent them at both the south and north pool. We choose to get B at the north pool as its not right next to the kiddie pool like most of the south pool ones. There is one really nice one at the South pool off on its own next to the water slide that looks nice but I suspect its fairly popular.

We made great use of it for the day, they provide lots of towels and set you up with cold water.

Can you bring your own beverages such as water and pop with you into the gazebo?

You can bring your own beverages.

Cabana's were around $45/day. They had switched to a new style with pillows that are very uncomfortable, we rented once and never again.

BUT, they did bring back a few (3) of the old style by the adult hot tub in the north. We have rented them on occasion during busy season so we do not have to fight for "shade" chairs. They seat two and face the ocean and provide for a nice day.

Can you book the gazebo in advance of your arrival if you are exchanging in?

IMO - and YMMV (or perhaps theirs...), but for us - we would rather be on beach than by pool - so consider renting beach chairs and umbrellas that are set-up (and taken down) by WKORV staff.

David, that sounds so much nicer to me as well but my daughter has always wanted to rent a cabana / gazebo when we have vacationed elsewhere and we always told her no, its cost prohibitive. So we are finally giving her the one present she really really wants....thanks so much thou...

I can't remember the cost when we rented. We rented a cabana on the corner at the North pool on our last day one year. We reserved it a couple days in advance.
Some people are pool people, some are beach. My husband prefers the pool, I'm happy to be anywhere tropical

You can not rent in advance since it is charged to your room. There was a time they talked about online but I have never seen it.
BTW, we like the beach too

Cabana rental

We haven't stayed at WKORV, but one of our party rented a cabana at the Hilton hotel on the Big Island recently. I heard she paid about $250 for the day so the one you're contemplating sounds reasonable by comparison. I swore I would never pay that kind of money, then hung out in it for an hour and changed my mind. In that case, the cabana had both a pool and ocean view and got breezes that you didn't get renting the two-person shade structures by the pool. The breeze is important if the weather is hot.

Somewhat off topic, but related to cabanas, the WKORV price is not bad. A cabana at Castaway Cay is basically $600 for the couple of hours you are there during the Disney Cruise stop...

Hi Everyone,

I need some additional help. My daughter just got diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and she still would really like to have the Gazebo rental as her 18th birthday present while we are staying at WKORVN this August. She will need to eat protein and carbs every 4 hours and I just want to ensure that we would be able to bring our own food for her while she is relaxing in the gazebo for the day?

Does anyone know the rules for the gazebo about bringing food from our room down for her to munch on thru the day?

Yes, you can. We rented a gazebo and brought a cooler down with us. At WKORV, we made extensive use of those grills.
