I wasn't sure where to post this.....I ran across a company called Timeshare Exit Solutions. I wanted to see if anyone here has heard of it and know anything about it.

Any information would be appreciated. Thank you everyone in advance.

HI an welcome to TUG!

They are going to charge you $2,000-$3,000 to "take your timeshare off your hands."

This is the cold hard truth: Unless you own one of the top timeshares like Disney, Marriott, or Starwood, your timeshare is selling for 0-10% of what you paid for it, on the resale market.

The best bet to get rid of a timeshare is to give it away yourself for little or no cost: There are two places on TUG where you can give away your Timeshare for free (no charge for the Ads.) There are other cheap and free sites on the internet, as well.

TUG Marketplace - the only cost is your TUG membership - $15 (List it for $1 and it will automatically go in the Bargain Basement Ads.)

Bargain Deals - Totally FREE! - just write a simple post with all the pertinent info. In your post, include the following info.:
-resort name
-unit size
-season owned
-maintenance fee
-current reservations

To make it more attractive I would:

1) Pay 2010/2011 maintenance fees and don't ask for reimbursement.

2) Pay for the title transfer (you can get a simple professional transfer for about $100) I've used this licensed document Prep. company and the owner is a Tugger. - Note, this is my personal recommendation, not as a representative of TUG.

3) Reserve a popular holiday week in 2010 or 2011 for the new owner

Good luck!

Often these companies change their names so when you try to search or google them on the internet, you can't find them. One trick is to try googling their phone number (sometimes it traces back to another, more well known scammer).

Anyone, anywhere who asks you for an upfront fee and claims they have "buyers waiting" are lying to you.

From the name of this company, it sounds like you are looking for someone to take your timeshare off your hands. Usually, companies like this will claim to do it for a huge fee when all they are really doing is transferring power of attorney.

If you've seen other threads about companies like these in these forums, you'll see that their trick is to make you think that they're taking over ownership (and the maintenance fee obligations). In reality, you merely granted them authority to try to sell it for you. Then, they will list it on E-bay for $1.

However, if they haven't sold it by the time the fee you paid them runs out (to cover the maintenance fees), they'll stop paying the maintenance fees and then you'll still be legally on the hook for the MFs.
