A little confused about renting

I own with Marriott and have a few weeks up for rent, but this is my first time renting. I'm not sure about how to go about getting payment. Is it best to get payment up front in full? If so, how does the person renting know that I'm legit?
Also, if the reservation is then under their name, am I responsible for anything? Is a rental agreement necessary?
Any info would be appreciated.

A lot of people do not want to make the full payment up front. Would you be comfortable giving $1500 to a complete stranger?

For me I have alot of repeat customers and always suggest the potential customer call the resort to confirm that I have a lot of reservations there and am actually legit. That makes it a lot easier as I am renting multiple rooms a week at the resorts.

I offer a discount for payment at signing and offer tenants the ability to use Paypal to pay for their intervals. No issues and happy tenants since 2004. I've always used the Timeshare Today rental kit with a few modifications.

This kit, along with a copy of my reservation and receipt for maintenance fees, goes out to any Redweek subscriber who shows interest. I obscure part of the reservation number and encourage the tenant to phone the resort if they have any questions about my ownership.

Denise, I'm new to this Website...I think I sent you a PM, but I'm not 100% sure that it went through. Please be on the lookout for it and let me know!
Thanks,
Deanna
