After reading the "Tips" on the Wyndham sticky, I still have a questions. I have 4000 points that will expire the end of this year. I understand I can borrow from next year's points, place a reservation, cancel it, then use the left over points and the cancelled points to put into a trading company. But, what about the rest of next year's points? Can I still deposit them into the credit pool? We are taking extensive trips next year and won't be able to use our Wyndham points so wanted to put them in the credit pool for a planned road trip in 2016. Thanks for any advice you can give.

4000 is not much in Wyndham currency. It is probably about $20-25 worth of MF. Not enough to jump hoops over.

I also think the minimum to deposit to RCI is 10,000.

If you want to pool your points I suggest you do that instead of trying to deposit the 4000 into RCI. If you are out of transaction fees any thing you suggested would end up with charges that exceed the value of trying to save the 4000 points.

You can pool your points provided you do it before your use year starts. If you have a Jan 1 - Dec 31 use year, which I assumed by your post, you need to pool them before the year ends.

Sandy's advice is RIGHT on!

$20-25 worth of points (via the cost of MFs for the 4K is chump change... if you are NOT VIP Gold or Platinum, you might have to pay the RT to do anything with those points -- just adding to the cost of trying to use them.

I AM a higher level VIP and live 60 miles from a Wyndham resort --- I don't worry about almost any small value like your at the end of the USE YEAR.

AND I also agree with Sandy's recommendation to CREDIT POOL you 2015 points IN ADVANCE of the start of your 2015 USE YEAR. You will be able to use THOSE points "as needed" to make reservations for both 2015 & 2016 (and maybe 2017) ... plan that GREAT 2017 Trip -- large family get together - extend Hawaii trip - car driving - city stays (Chicago, NYC, Washington, DC-- even driving down the coast).

As Sandy and Linda have implied; you have done well to end the year with just 4000 wasted points. But for the future to avoid even this small loss, use the points credit pool. Just be careful not to pool any points you plan to use for ARP
