Does anyone know whether we still get 2 SPG points per dollar when paying maintenance fees for Vistana timeshares (formerly Starwood) with the SPG amex? We used to get it before the timeshare division was spun off and sold. I was wondering if we still get it now that it isn't owned and managed by Starwood anymore. Thanks!

Yes, so far we have been getting 2X. I am sure it will stop at some point.

There is no way to know what the relationship between Vistana and SPG will be in the future, now that ILG manages the Vistana timeshare branch, and Marriott manages the hotel branch.

See thread on Chase Sapphire Reserve card.
$450 annual fee - but $300 credit for MFs, and $100 credit towards Global Entry or TSA Pre, and Priority Pass for airport lounges (>900), and 3x points for MFs, and 100K reward points for $4000 spend in 1st 3 months, and...
a cool metallic card

At this point - the SPG AMEX gives 2x. The rest is speculation... Heck, maybe they would give more points like CSR and try and get people back (especially after the Costco loss)... <-- speculation

Right on!
Chase Sapphire Reserve = 3X points for all timeshares.
Minimum value of CSR point is 1.5 cents = 4.5% return.

I plan on charging my yearly fees onto our SPG AE card for 2 x points, then sliding the points onto Marriott rewards for 3x points.

Update: I was able to charge my vistana maintenance fees to my spg card, get 2 spg points per dollar, then transfer the spg points to marriott rewards points at a 1:3 ratio. These are all hotel points that I am referring to. Thanks TUG friends!

I still have to pay a rather hefty bill for my timeshare. So I'm putting some of it on two SPG cards where you get 2X the points, but a lot might go to the Chase Sapphire Reserve card. You get 3X the points, and they are UR points, and can redeem them for 1.5X airline tickets if you book through the Chase rewards site. Let's say you are paying $100. You'd get 200 SPG points, but you'd get 300 Ultra Rewards points. Which you can use for $450 worth of airline tickets. SPG points would get you perhaps $400 worth of hotel.

Marriotts are OK, but I like staying in Hiltons. :D I'd rather use the points for airline tickets.

The math is not working there.

64,640 UR points = $808 in airfare at 1.25. at 1.50, the same points should be worth a little more, around $970. But I cannot figure that out right now. I am not good at story problems.

Pretty sure you misplaced the decimals.

I'd say 200 SPG points are prob worth $4 or $5. I'm guessing 300 UR points at 1.5x are prob worth $4.50.

So basically a wash...
