We spent the weekend at Grandview in Las Vegas. I used an AC for the exchange so it was cheaper than a hotel room. My husband had a conference at the Luxor Tues.-Fri. and we stayed at Grandview for the weekend.

We really like this timeshare - we actually prefer the off-strip location and walking proximity to the South Point Casino with all it's amenities. We were in the Jasmine Bldg. on the 11th floor over looking the pool, and our unit looked like new. My only complaint is that we were shorted on supplies, but were able to tip the maid for soap and laundry detergent.

The sales people are like ants at this resort, but we escaped from their clutches by not going to the "parking pass desk." ;)

I was surprised to find out that they are building another timeshare at the nearby Silverton Casino. It is branded Silverton, but I was told that Grandview is building/selling it.

How interesting! I had not seen anything about this in our local paper, but I found this item online. I had noticed the new tower going up at the Silvertaon for quite some time but had no idea it was timeshare.

I'm happy to see that they are building a Cracker Barrel restaurant out in front of the Bass Pro Shop along the I-15 freeway. We didn't have one before now.

Is it ok to not getting the parking pass there? Last time when we were there, we liked the resorts, but spent like 20 minutes at the parking desk when they forced us to sign up for the sales presentation. We ended up paid $20 deposit for the presentation and escaped from it.

We said if we will ever go back, we need to know how to skip this parking desk.

I didn't ask if it was OK - I just didn't go. I know from previous experience that the parking pass desk won't take no for an answer, so I was not going to talk to them. After I was checked in, I asked where the rest room was, went to the rest room, and then directly out the front door.

One of the things I liked as an owner was the owner's desk. Not that we got away without signing up for a tour but it was faster than the parking desk. They actually gave my $20 back when they couldn't provide handicap entrances and exits. I used a Getaway but I was still treated really well. Much better than when I did not own there. I look forward to another choice though. Where is the Silverton?

The Silverton Casino is directly [North] of Grandview on the left side of the highway - maybe 2 miles away. You can see the tower from Grandview. Grandview is on Silverado Ranch.

Actually the Silverton is directly WEST of the Grandview timeshares across the I-15 freeway. The Grandview is located on S. Las Vegas Blvd. between the two freeway exits of Silverado Ranch to the north and Cactus to the south. The Grandview is next to the large South Point Casino.

A Cracker Barrel Restaurant is being built by the Silverton and will be visible from the I-15. Lots of good stuff in that area!

It is absolutely okay to not go to the parking pass desk. I use "Day Use" there very frequently, and there is never any sort of parking enforcement.

More North (about 2 miles), but just on the West edge of the freeway where South Point is on the East edge. I have never been a huge fan of Silverton except the Bass Pro Shop there. I find South Point a nicer casino to be timesharing next to.....And I'm not sure their Silverton property can match the pools at Grandview.

Yes, you are right about the Silverton being more north and west & I agree with you about liking South Point better as it has a lot more stuff to do (movie theater, bowling, more restaurants, horse arena), but both properties are close enough to each other and not really that far from all the other Las Vegas attractions.

Won't take no for an answer? I guess we should avoid this location. My wife HATES it when I decide to begin messing with the timeshare body snatchers. When they won't take no for an answer I put them on the clock. I like to see how long I can occupy and waster their time, allowing potential prospects who might actually sign up to pass them on by. My record was a little over an hour with a Tahiti Village street urchin before his manager finally realized what I was doing. He had to literally pull the guy away from me.

Sorry - I got my directions mixed up - it is North of Grandview.

Guess it's a good thing we own there - not a word about a presentation when we got our parking pass, even on a Last Call booking. Took us about 15 seconds. Phew!

Maybe just tell them you own another week to get them off your back? :D

That is really odd - being an owner should not make any difference - they want to sell you additional weeks.

I have to remember this, great idea and excellent escape tactic....

I have used both of my independently owned resorts and I never have a problem. Our trip in August will be our first with the big boys at WKORV...
