All,

How accessible is WPORV for Summer reservations at the 8 month reservation window (most specifically, late June)?

i recall that I had some difficulty getting my current 1BR reservation 8 months ago -- I started off only being able to book only a Studio, and then a couple months after the fact, a 1BR was available. Now that I think about it, I was 24 hours late with my reservation.

Searching the TUG threads make it sound like its an easy StarOptions reservation -- which was a little different then my single experience. Can others comment on the ease of StarOptions trading into late June?

We really like it here -- both the property and north shore (not to mention the island itself). And I can see why DavidnRobin almost bought the fixed HammerHead unit.

For a future thread-searcher, Building 5 is great for both grill and pool access, and would be a good building request. I lucked out with a HH room in Building 5, but would take a regular room here in a heartbeat as I value those two items. This is a great property.

Best,

Greg

Hi Greg - I think it is pretty easy to get WPORV reservations - if you make the reservation as early as possible. Last time, you were more than 24 hours late - the window opened on the 24th, and per your post, you remembered on the 27th. ;)

If you make your reservation right at midnight, the night before the phone lines open, at midnight Eastern, you should be able to get your reservation, as long as you are flexible, and don't need the 4th of July week.

That being said - we don't know how VSE may change things. Starwood definitely manipulated inventory behind the scenes, so it's hard to say what will happen with VSE.

I have never had problems making reservations there. The tricky part is making reservations early enough to get good room assignments ;)
