We can no longer afford this timeshare and are looking to get rid of it. I'll pay the transfer fees up to $200. All fees are paid through 2014.

Your Star Options will not transfer. The buyer would need to use Interval International or RCI to exchange even into Starwood resorts. The resort is Sheraton Desert Oasis.

I'm a pretty un-familiar with timeshares so I'm not sure what the Star Options are. I just grabbed this information from the website. Would Star Options being non transferrable make this harder to sell for me or is it a common thing that a buyer would expect.

It is a common thing that a knowledgeable buyer should expect. Someone who acquired your timeshare would probably want it to use themselves, or to trade it with Interval International or RCI.

I recommend that you also offer to pay for the title transfer costs to "sweeten the pot." You can get a professional transfer from the company below for about $150:

Denise, great advice. I just wanted to 2nd Denise's suggestion as currently on ebay there are numerous 1 bedrooms up for $1.00 each and those all include all of the tranfer costs....
