Fixed week with HGVC

I have the opportunity to get a 2BDR week 51 at HGVC Waikiki.
Any thoughts about fixed weeks with HGVC?
I really don't think that I will ever be in Honolulu for Christmas but I do want a platinum week there.
What should I do?

Normally fixed weeks cost more than a regular week. Since you have no plans to use it during week 51, I would skip it if you have to pay a premium for it.

There are plenty of platinum resale weeks to choose from.

We own a fixed New Years week at the HGVC @ the LV Hilton

It's already booked for us for the next two years.

We have never used it! Always traded it for other times. Have tried to rent it once or twice without success.

If you can get a Hawaii fixed Christmas week for a great price, go for it. I would NEVER trade that week though, it's too valuable. But renting it should be no problem for a premium rate.

The advantage of a fix week is that it is automatically reserved for you. You have to release it if you do not want to use it.
