Hi. I finally closed on my small 77k annual wyndham point contract and able to sign into the wyndham account online today. my points are from 1/1/10 to 12/30/10. Per my account, there is still 77k housekeeping credit left for 2009 but no points left for 2009 (my use yr start 2010 per resale contract). I was told that the 2009 housekeeping credit expires on 12/30/09. any suggestion on how I can use these HK credits? If I deposit some 2010 points to RCI before 12/30 this yr, can I use some of the these 2009 HK? thanks

Although if you need to purchase from Wyndham, it will cost you 2.25 per HK credit. Prob. not worth the trouble, you can not move the point to next year anyway. And if you want to use them, you have to move the point to this year first, so you are looking at finding some place to stay that cost you exact 28k to start, consider we are close to the end of year, and most places will have discount on point, it will be no small task, than make reservation, cancel it immediately and deposit it to RCI. If you saw something internally that you like to travel to, than you can certainly try to do that.

But you may find that you don't have any transaction credit left. So anything you plan to do will cost money. You may want to check it first, just log in on-line, and pretend you need to make a reservation, at the end, before you actually reserve something, it will show how many transaction credit you have left for this year.

Jya-Ning, thanks for your suggestion. I am so new at this I am still learning.

I did what you suggest and log into my account and pretend to make a reservation. It shows I have 0 points for 2009 (need to borrow from 2010 or purchase point), 77 HK credits and 7 transaction credits. Are those transaction fee real or phantom one? I am not sure how a 77k point package has 7 transaction credits. Does these 7 transaction credits carry to next yr?

I was able to find a reservation costing 28k for 12/09. So if I want to deposit to RCI this yr in order to use up the HK and TR, do I call or reserve the day online, then call RCI to cancel the reservation and deposit the cancelled point to RCI the same day? Once the deposit is done in RCI, I don't have to worry about transaction credit and just pay the exchange fee only when I find the interval I want, right?

Another question. If the 28k reservation I need to make and then cancelled before deposit to RCI will cost 77 HK credit, do I need more HK credit when I deposit to RCI or does the 77 HK are credit back to the account? This is becoming very confusing?

Can I just tell wyndham to borrow 28k from next year and deposit to RCI directly without going thru reservation, then cancellation and then deposit?

No, these does not carry over. You probably deal with a responsible seller, who take over the ownership to his account, so his account originally may have a lot of contract, yours probably is the last one, so Wyndham just move all to you. That is the reason you get 7 free transaction credit. But you probably can not do too much with it.

You can do all on-line or call Wyndham VC. make sure it is not discount. You can reserve it, when the reservation show in your account, cancel it then (you may need to call VC to do that, if you hate to wait), than ask them to deposit the point to RCI.

Yes, you will pay RCI exchange only.

It will use your 2009 HK, and when you cancel, it will return to 2009. So when you deposit to RCI with 28k, it will take 28Hk from that 77HK.

Lily,

Where did you see the transaction credit? I can only find points available and HK points available under points status. If you want to use all your HK points, you can purchase points from Wyndham and deposit to RCI. I was short of 7k points, they let me purchase it for $70. Later, we found that I also need to purchase HK points in order to complete the deposit.

when I try to make a pretend a reservation, the next page shows number of points needed, number of HK credits needed and the number of transaction credit available.
