Sundial at Mustang Towers
I just submitted a review of this property, but I don't know how long before it will actually appear, so I'll post it here as well.
I’ve been vacationing in Port Aransas for 20+ years, and it’s my favorite beach in Texas. I stayed in a rental unit at Sundial back in 1996, and when I had an opportunity to buy an October week, I jumped at it. The building has 56 units, only 15 of which are timeshares. All units have unobstructed views of the Gulf and large balconies. My unit was extremely clean. The bedroom furniture is dated but totally acceptable, and all beds were comfortable. The master has a queen bed and the second bedroom has two singles. There are also two rollaway beds, but I honestly don’t know where you’d put them. Furniture in the living and dining rooms was nice. The living room has a sofa, loveseat and chaise, and the dining room has a large glass table. The kitchen was small but functional. I don’t cook on vacation, so I didn’t pay a lot of attention to what all was there beyond the coffee pot. I did use a few dishes and noticed that there were eight of everything and that all pieces were there. The unit is not particularly large, but the use of mirrored walls makes it feel bigger. The bathrooms were also dated but have everything you need. The master bedroom has a huge walk-in closet, and the second bedroom has a large closet as well. The laundry room is very large. Hair dryers are not furnished, so I was glad that I called ahead. The supplies that are furnished include dish soap, bath and hand soap, trash bags, coffee filters, paper towels, toilet tissue and facial tissue. There is a trash chute next to the elevators, which is very handy. As previous reviewers have said, the pool and hot tub are nice, and they are sheltered from the wind. There is an outdoor shower near the pool. Sundial is five miles outside the town of Port Aransas, not Aransas Pass as indicated by an earlier reviewer. Aransas Pass is on the other side of the Ship Channel and accessible by free ferries. Port A is a small town with a very laid back vibe, probably best known for its tarpon fishing. It’s still reminiscent of a fishing village that just happens to have a great beach. There are plenty of good restaurants, in my opinion better than Corpus Christi, about 25 miles away. I arrived after the office was closed, but they had sent me a letter with instructions for the lockbox, so it was no problem. The office is closed on Sunday and Wednesday, and the hours are 9-5. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. In fact, when I couldn’t get the internet to work, one of the girls from the office came up and did it for me. There are no planned activities, but there is a room that has books, games and it looked like a few water toys. I think there was also a ping-pong table. There are higher-end condos closer to town, but I personally enjoy the solitude of being a little further away from the crowds. The week I was there, even though the weather was perfect and the water was warm enough to swim, I never saw more than six people on the beach at one time. In my opinion, Sundial is suitable for anyone who wants to relax but still have activities nearby. I have uploaded a few pictures of the unit, the view from the balcony (4th floor), and the sunrise: http://www2.snapfish.com/thumbnailsh...NAME=snapfish/. I hope this works.

thanks
Thanks for the pictures. I was able to look and might go there some day. We also like the beach and off the beaten path a little. This wouldn't be too far for us either. We also like to go to Peregrine but it's still closed due to the hurricane last year
. We hope next year we will be able to go back. That's even closer for us!!

I will have to agree with you on this place. We were there Aug 29th 2009 to Sept 5th and had a blast. We stayed in a three bedroom two and a half bath. Posted our pictures on our webshots page.
