When we first arrived, I thought the upper pool was decorative because no one was in it - then I saw the slide and volley ball net.The bottom / main pool is tolerable. It is definitely warmer than it was last year. I would guess that it is about about 1-2 degrees cooler than WKORV pool usually is.
The upper / slide pool is the one that is freezing cold. I have only seen a few people using that pool all week. Maybe they will start heating that pool once the resort fills up???
With that said, I agree with Jerseygirl and Ken that we will most likely not travel here in the winter months until they heat all the pools consistently.
As W5* said, the lower pool is okay as long as the sun is out.
On one of our first days here, we came up from the beach (where the ocean water is warmer then the pool) and went into the hot tub by the #9 building - they have a thermometer in it - it was 94! A worker came along to check something and the 10 people in the pool asked him to raise it.
As far as the resort being full, DH and I were suprised at how many windows/units were lit at this time of year....we really do not see many rooms in the evening without lights on.
I just can't see anyone using the pools in Jan/February.
