Hi all,

We are planning a Disney trip mid-December, and the plan is to do MK 1 day and another Disney park on the second day (we only have 2 park-doable days)

Originally, we were thinking of doing MK on the 13th, but I now see that Mickey's Christmas party is on that day. Does this mean that they will ..ahem.. show us the door when its 7pm? On the 14th, it looks as if MK has extra magic hours 8- 11pm - I guess that means we only have an hour difference between the two days. How exactly will they enforce the "shoo out the regular tickets" policy?
(Just curious - with two kids under 5, its unlikely we will stay that long, but I would hate to miss out on the parade and fireworks with a regular ticket)

The other advice I need is which park to do for the second day. We have two young kids, and two others who are mid-20s but have not done anything Disney before, and DH and I who love rides. None of us have been to any park other than MK.

Thanks!
DG

Yes, they do show you the door on nights of the parties if you don't have a ticket. I'm not sure how they do it, but they do clear the park of people who don't have the party ticket. I think they will check you on the rides and if you are settling yourself in a prime parade/firework spot I think they'll ask for your MVMCP ticket.

Halloween Party

We were there the week before Halloween. When had tickets for the Halloween Party and they put arm bands on us when we entered the gate. I saw them checking arm bands, but not sure if you are not riding rides or going to a show, if they would check or not.

We'll be there too! I wanted to go to MK on Saturday the 12th - which avoids both the MVMCP and the Magic hours - but our friends that work there won't be around that day. Bummer for us. So... it looks like we'll go to MK on Monday the 14th (DH's birthday!). What can ya do.

If you are in the special group you do get wrist bands and they do check them for the rides. If you are in line when the time hits they do let you stay in line and get that last ride in. You can stroll around all you want afterwards but no rides allowed. We tend to stroll back to the gates, checking out the stores along the way...that way we don't waste time during the day shopping. This way we also avoid the main crush out of the park at turnover time.

As for a 2nd park idea I guess I'd go with Animal Kingdom. It has a play area/rides for really young kids and your older kids can go on the thrill rides. Shows such as Lion King and It's a Bug's Life are suitable for everyone.

If you have hopper tickets you can think about going over to MGM/Hollywood Studios after dark to see the Osborne lights... we enjoyed walking around the city set all lit up and the fake snow. Looking for the hidden mickeys was a fun diversion as well. Gee, I don't know if the lights are on this year - now I have to check!

Ok, just checked... they are on this year from Nov. 10th thru Jan 3rd. They are part of the regular admission price as well, FYI.
