We just spent a couple days in Fredericksburg, TX an easy drive from San Antonio or Austin Texas.

Be sure and see the Wildflower Seed Farm 7 miles east of Fredericksburg. Acres of wildflowers. Stunning. :cheer:

Also be sure and see the Museum of the Pacific War in Fredericksburg, home town of Admiral Nimitz. One could easily spent half a day touring the world class museum. It is a sobering experience. :cheer: :cheer:

We love Fredericksbug. Marble Falls and Llanos are also very nice places to visit. Bandera is also a fun place to visit.
 
I love that area, also. I love Gruene and Wimberly, too.

Ian particularly loves LBJ's birthplace - he came from really humble beginnings.

We also love this area.just a few hours from home and sometimes just take a few days.....I don't usually look in this section but seen the title and had to look LOL...:cheer: Anyone seen any Wild flowers the bluebonnets this year?? Where did you see them....:wave: Would like to take some pictures...
 
Enchanted Rock State Park

While you are in the Fredericksburg area you might also want to visit Enchanted Rock a few miles north. Impressive BIG piece of granite. Good climbing workout and a great view when you reach the top.

In early May we drove north out of Fredericksburg for 60 miles and there were acres of wildflowers everywhere.
