My husband and I just finished up our volunteer duties at the PGA golf tournament in Las Vegas today, and it was a great week. It was interesting to discover that a number of the other volunteers had travelled from many other states, and that made me think maybe this is something Tuggers would enjoy, too.

If you're planning a stay in Las Vegas in October, 2009, and you enjoy golf, you might want to consider either volunteering a day or two or just attending the tournament next year. The official title of the tournament is the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospital for Children Open. It's not one of the major PGA tournaments because of the time of year, as I understand it, but it surely was a lot of fun to be a part of it.

An added benefit, for me at least, was that on the Celebrity Pro/Am day, I got to speak to Luke Wilson and Greg Kinnear and I got to see Justin Timberlake. Seeing the professional golfers play was fun, too.:D

Hi, Do you happen to know what dates in October this will take place next year?
I'm not positive, but I think it will be about the same time as this year, which was October 13-19. The first two days were practice rounds, and the third day was the Celebrity/Pro-Am round. On Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday it was just the PGA professionals playing with the final round ending about 5 p.m.

Here is the official PGA website information about this year's tournament. You could check back during the year and see when next year's will be as I don't see anywhere on the site the exact dates for next year yet. But, they've said that Justin Timberlake has committed to being involved for the next few years.
