Hi,
I'd like any and all info about houseboating in OK. We have a long weekend booked the 2nd week of October. There will be 4 of us going, 2 adults and 2 children. We have a 2 bd houseboat. I know it'll probably be chilly and we won't be swimming but we're really just looking to relax. I've never camped before so this RV type cooking, camping thing is new. Any hints will be much appreciated. Thanks, Mary

We enjoyed a 3BR houseboat in Ok in Sept last year with 5 adults. The boats are in very good condition, the staff is very helpful, and the lake is great with lots of nice sandy shoreline. The boats have a full kitchen, small bath, and nice living and sleeping space. It's kinda like a moterhome on pontoons. There is a nice sun deck on top.

The staff gives you good training on how to run the boat and find you way around the lake. You will probably want to get groceries before arriving but there are a couple small convience stores nearby. There will be a pumpout fee and of course gas to pay for.

I think you'll have a great time.

We just entertained two TUG couples from Minnesota (all boaters) on our boat a couple weeks ago. We talked about houseboating in OK.

So it's good to hear that it's a good deal.

What are the details? Any extra expense over normal timesharing? Etc.

Wow! There is a lot of them. All they all houseboating resorts?

I always wanted to talk to an owner. What are your annual fees? How often do they replace them? Anything else that is different?

I didn't want to hijack this thread so I've emailed Jim personally.

Houseboating is very popular here on Table Rock Lake, not far from the lake you are asking about. Of course, it tapers off after Labor Day.

If you google you can probably find a site with lake information, like water temp and stuff like that.
