Is there a place to look up the last retail sales value of the weeks when Marriott quit selling weeks and converted to points? I have several weeks that I am trying to see what Marriott would have sold them for.

I'm not sure of the accuracy, but go to http://www.smartshare.com/new/buy-a-timeshare.asp Once you are there, go through the classifieds and scroll down towards the bottom where you see "pricing information" after you selected the ad. It usually shows the original price and of course the savings of going retail. Again, not sure its entirely accurate but should give you an idea. I used them to buy one timeshare. This is not a stunt to give them extra hits on their website or anything like that. But, I will say the buying experience was a good one.

Thanks so much for the info. It does give a value for ones that are listed. I will keep watching for the ones that weren't listed yet. It was very helpful. Just trying to get a feel for what the cost would have been through Marriott.

Thanks again!

Thanks, the link was helpful, but it only had a few of the properties listed. Does anyone have another site that would have all of the Marriott properties last retail prices? It appears that there is interest in this topic from the # of hits in a couple of days.

jbvp, what is the meaning of "excellent" in your post above. Never heard of an "Excellent" view before.

When viewing "My Weeks" on the Marriott Vacation Club website, it lists the season, the floor plan and the "view" (ie excellent or ocean front)

Excellent view is usually used for resorts without different view types. Our Grande Vista and Harbour Lakes are listed as Excellent.

Just checking to see if anyone else had any other information about where you could find the last retail value on the Marriott timeshares.

You might try ebay for the sad news on resale prices these days...and you can check recent sales from a link on the left column.

How in the world do you handle 17 weeks?

Brian

The price of timeshares are in the toilet.
Just yesterday I bought a Grande Vista 2br Gold week off ebay for $56 plus about $500 in closing fees.

I think this is more of an aberration rather than a new low. The seller that listed the week you purchased has had some very low closing auctions. Harbour Lake gold for $1 and another with no bids. Their listings are very poorly done and they list them using "Marriotts" without the apostrophe. This causes a lot of people searching for "Marriott's" to miss their listings.

I noticed the marriotts vs marriott's search issue. Most of the GV gold units on ebay seem to be going for @$1000.
