I'm still pretty new on here & I have a Wyndham Discovery package I was talked into last year. During the past 1-2 months is the first time I've tried to make reservations.
One of the advantages I was told by the salesman was that there was plenty of inventory, particularly for Wyndham Discovery people, because they want them to be wowed by their experience & buy in.
Well, I've had the worst experience with inventory & trying to get in to where I want to stay. And, I'm not trying to stay anywhere during prime season!
I started about 7 weeks in advance to try to get into Myrtle Beach @ SeaWatch plantation and Ocean Boulevard for the beginning of October. They could not give me 5 nights in a row in the same type of room at either location. I would have to change rooms at least once (during a 5 night stay!?). I scrapped that idea altogether now.
Now, I am trying to get into Orlando Bonnet Creek at the beginning of December. No 1 or 2 bedrooms available at all. And that trip is 10+ weeks away! :wall:
Apparently nothing is available anywhere unless you make reservations 10 months in advance.
The lady with Wyndham reservations told me to keep checking on Bonnet Creek & something might open up but I was told that also about SeaWatch plantation & Ocean Boulevard but nothing ever did. I'm really upset over this. Why would I even want Wyndham if I can't ever get in!

Don't give up. There is a sweet spot at 60 days and one at 15 days where cancellations create openings.

I would also suggest to start looking further out. The booking window opens at 10 months, and at some resorts they fill almost immediately. Bonnet Creek is very large, but December for the holiday decorations is pretty popular.

They decorate the Bonnet Creek resort for the holidays?
Or do you mean that's just a popular time of year to visit Orlando?
I'm trying to get in 12/9/16 for 3 nights.

Also be aware that the weekends fill up faster than weekdays. Late reservations for weekdays are easier than weekends.

Disney has special parades and events ALL during the before Thanksgiving in November thru NYE ... lots of people attend.

Late Sept, Oct and early Nov is Food and Wine Festival ... lots of special dining and other events.

Disney has events ALL year long .. to keep their parks full and decorated for their special guests (anyone with MONEY).

Bonnet Creek is a very close to WDW and while nice resort, it is without all the expense of a Disney resort.
