I am now deciding between a 3 BR at Kingston cove or 2 BR at Waterside. Preferences? How far is Kingston Cove from Coligny Plaza (in miles)? It is hard to tell on the maps. I am looking for spring break 2018...does anyone know if there is typically more RCI availability during early April 2018 in the next few months? Not sure if I am looking too far in advance or not.
Thanks

early April should have plenty. that's shoulder season for HHI. Waterside has 3 BRs, so I would put in an OGS and see if you can get a 3Br W. After staying at a number of other places (but never Kingston), we liked W enough to buy (resale) there. I like the pools (smaller pool by bldg. 7/8 is heated nicely-a consideration for April). I like being able to walk to grocery, beach (back road), shops, etc. With a bike, you can access the entire Coligny area and Forest road. the W units are somewhat outdated (green corian countertops, etc.), but the units are large and I good condition. The location and compact footprint of the resort is very nice, IMHO.

We own at Waterside, 3 BR during Spring Break. Our unit has been refurbished, according to our newsletter, and we will be visiting soon. They intend to update all units eventually. I have never been to Kingston Cove but as far as convenience and cleanliness Waterside can't be beat. I really think you'll like it there.

Thanks for the info. We are considering taking over ownership of fixed and floating week Waterside units from another Tugger now. Any experience or problems with reservations for floating weeks if you have prime season access and call 360 days ahead?

I never had any problem with getting prime when you reserve in advance. If I remember correctly you have to make the request in writing not by calling. You do have to prepay the following years MF in order to reserve and they did have a rule where you can't get the exact same week 2 years in a row. So if you only want July 4th week, it wouldn't work, but if you were happy with any July week than it shouldn't be a problem. It's annoying to have to prepay but I think it makes it easier to reserve because you always have those who are unwilling to prepay so you have less competition.

Do you know if there are any restrictions on renting out summer weeks? I thought I read something about owner only time during the summer. ??

You are free to rent out a summer week on your own. They won't accept a float week that has been reserved for the summer for their internal program where they rent it out for you for a percentage and they won't allow you to deposit a float summer week with Interval. You are restricted on your deposits to something like before week 24 or after week 36 when using interval.

Thank you for the info! Last question...if the float week is every other year, can you then request the same week since it is not consecutive years?

I don't believe so but I never tried that. I had owned an EOY too. I would think not because the idea is to let other who aren't quite so organized have a shot and you would still be shutting out other EOY owners.

we own week 26. the last few times I went, there were several families that I met there on their float weeks. they said they reserve onsite for the next year, alternating weeks 26 and 27. i was glad to see floaters actually able to get prime weeks. 4th of july varies from weeks 26 to 27, so alternating would get you 4th july more than 50% of the time.
