We've never taken trip protection but we'll be in Hilton Head from Sept. 16 till Sept. 23. I'm wondering if it covers weather issues. Anybody know? I tried looking at the documentation but it asks for your state of residence and I'm not sure if I'd put in South Carolina or my home state of Pennsylvania. TIA!

I believe Interval's insurance does not. You want to put the state of your legal residence not where you are traveling.

I may be incorrect but I believe it does cover weather issues and it does cover hurricanes IF you bought the protection before the hurricane was named.

I hope you're right Melissy, but I hope Irma goes away or dies off inland.

How it was explained to me was that a common carrier, hotel or airline would have to be down for 24 hours. I filed my claim today for Marriott Frenchman's Cove. Ill post the results when I get them. I did find that my Marriott Rewards Visa offers 5k of trip insurance free. You may want to check your credit cards. I also bought the insurance from Interval, so I am hoping one will cover me:)
