We are down to three!!
Friend of mine asked for some help in renting his reservations.

[How viable are super bowl rentals?]

[Posts that contain all the info. of an Ad, are not permitted in the discussion forums.]

Any and all advise is appreciated.
TIA

I had reservations in San Francisco last year. The stadium is about 60 miles from the resort, but all the superbowl activities leading up to the game were in the city, and walking distance from the resort... It was complete bust for me , I wasnt able to rent a thing at any price your friend may have better luck because of the size of the unit.. I had studios and one bedrooms

The problem with Super Bowl rentals is that you don't know your target audience (followers of the two teams involved) until two weeks before the game itself.

I rented my Kierland units for the 2008 (iirc) Super Bowl. It was a PITA, requiring multiple Craigslist, eBay, and other listings with the rentals done just a few days before the game. I did well on rents but I would never do it again due to the time, hassle, and risk involved.

I doubt anyone will want to stay 35 miles away. There are too many hotels and high rise condos near downtown with a metro rail to take you back and forth.

Following up on the distance issue, I did well the last time the superbowl was in New Orleans,, the resort is walking distance to the Superdome (a long walk but walkable) and public transportation is good

I live in Houston and don't want to be in town. Had some discussion about AirBnb and other VBRO types of listing for houses and apartments even.

Can't say I'll know what demand will be like, especially in areas that are NOT close to the stadium.

I think I am just going to get out of town myself.

I was going to take my kids to NASA February 5 since its a school holiday. Strange. Most of the hotels in the area were sold out and those with available rooms (Holiday inn express, Hampton inn..) wanted $450 a night! Then I remember, Super Bowl.
