"
Timeshare project developers are compelled by this law to fully disclose all projects to buyers and to continue to do so as developments expand or are taken on and sales are made.
Deceptive marketing strategy is also outlawed by the law and will incur fines to be levied under the still-to-be-established timeshare authority.
A code of conduct, based on the law, must be implemented for timeshare salespersons."
That all sounds good in principle. And I give some kudos for such laws. But the key will be (as with any other law) enforcement and accountability for sales people who violate such laws. For instance, if a sales person violates one of these laws, who's going to report it? What penalty does the sales person face?
I guess I bring this up because there are similar laws all over but are rarely enforced. One reason why TS sales people notoriously lie and carry out their infamous tactics is because there is nothing stopping or penalizing them for doing so.
