St. Kitts - bringing frozen food???

    Does anyone know whether you can pack a cooler/freezer bag with ice (I know you can't do dry ice on a plane) and travel with food to St. Kitts? I hear that the meat in the stores is a little "mysterious" and we like to cook 3-4 of the nights. Years ago we brought frozen food, but not sure what the deal is now?

    You could probably do it if you used dry ice. I think some airlines allow it and some don't, so you could ask.

    I'm not sure it is worth the effort, though. My mom owns in St. Kitts and travels there most years. I've never heard her complain about the meat.

    You can probably google St. Kitts customs/import info to get the official scoop. We usually take some pre-packaged, frozen meats to Grand Cayman because of a fussy eater, the cost, and convenience. They allow a reasonable, small amount for personal use. I don't use dry ice (wouldn't advise that), just pack several well-frozen items together in small cooler, but we only have a half-day trip/flight to get there. Although now with the baggage fees, we may not do that anymore, except for a couple of items that we can't get there.
