Spinnaker resorts 1:4 rule

So glad that Spinnaker Resorts in Hilton Head Island have removed their 1:4 rule.

Waterside by Spinnaker has lost it's GOLD CROWN status though, wonder why.

As an owner of an August week at Waterside by Spinnaker, I wasn't even made aware it lost it's Gold Crown status. The units do need some updating but I always enjoy my week there for our beach vacation.

I hope someone can let us know.

I would assume it's b/c of somewhat outdated furnishings.
I agree it's a nice place, but when comparing to a gold crown like a Marriott or HGVC, IMHO, Waterside is definitely a step down.
I thought they were getting refurbished? Hopefully getting rid of two-toned green formica and corian. I don't really care about a countertop while at the beach, but the "gold" standard is granite and they've had that corian for over 10 years. I noticed some of the other Spinnaker properties have granite.

HI Bumping up an old thread. Is it true that Spinnaker removed they're 1 in 4 year rule? I was allowed to book there this year but still received the 1 in 4 year rule message under "urgent". I had been there 2 years ago. In the past, I was not allowed to book due to the 1 in 4 rule. Looking for some form of confirmation so I can stop stressing that they won't let me in.
