The family and I will be visiting Shore Crest next week. Can any one offer any helpful tips or tricks? Will we need to bring our own beach chairs, umbrellas, etc.?

This is our first time to Myrtle Beach. My daughter is 8 and my boy is 5. Are there any "must do" activities in the area? We are thinking of doing the Pirates Voyage Dinner Show, Ripley's Aquarium, Family Kingdom and mini golf. Feedback is appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your guidance.

Bring your own chairs/umbrellas or rent at the beach (rental company not affiliated with Shore Crest). I prefer to bring my own... sometimes that means buying them when I get there and leaving them behind for someone else to use.

North Myrtle Beach has restrictions on umbrella sizes (no higher than 7.5 ft, no greater than 9 ft diameter... must have a center pole.)

There are a few water parks in the area if they like water slides. Also checkout the Children's Museum of South Carolina, which is perfect for kids 8 and under.

There is a very nice lazy river onsite and probably over 20 putt putt courses in MB. I hope you are in Shore Crest I, you will have a view of the ocean. Please check things to do in Myrtle Beach on the web. There is a super Wal Mart, several outlet malls and a Costco near the resort. Please bring sun screen for the family and some hats.
Good luck and enjoy your vacation.

I stayed there in September and wrote an extensive review in the TUG Resort Reviews section. Check it out for lots of great info.
