They charge a fee to advertise on their site, and it's a ridiculously high fee. No guarantees they will sell anything for you, and they hope to get more and more people listing on the site by being highly visible with Google searches.

It's basically an upfront-fee company that calls me every now and then, but I did inquire (filled out their form) once, and it was all I had to do to create a relationship with them, apparently, because they can call me whenever they want, even though I am on the no call list.

They don't have brokers to help you determine price and just let you set your own price. This is what makes it all rather a waste of money for most people, because they want to charge too much for their "valuable" week.

People have purchased from the site, as they also purchase from Timeshares Only.

Actually the information is not exactly corrected that you were given. There is a broker as I responded to one of their ads in the Marketplace area. I don't know about the validity of their prices, but it does seem on some, that their prices are high. I had some dealings with the broker but never ended up closing on a deal to buy a unit.

A licensed real estate broker? I know they do not give advice on how to set a price, and that is because they legally cannot, as an advertising site.

They try to act legit, but they are an advertising site only. Information on MF's is incorrect (usually very outdated), and the listings are not priced at all consistently, because of the lack of a real estate broker helping to set the price.

Do not be fooled into thinking that paying for their "services" is going to do you any good.

If you spoke to a broker I'm pretty sure it was a broker who had the unit advertised on their site.

Although they call themselves a timeshare reseller, all their literature says that they specialize in getting people to their web site so your ad can be seen by them.

Here is an excerpt from one of their pages. The red highlight is mine.

•Sign up for our on line advertising with no recurring fees.
•Your customized ad is live on our site within 3-5 business days.
All offers made on your ad are forwarded directly to your inbox for consideration.•Professional closing assistance is available once you negotiate a sale price (buyer pays the fees).

No it wasn't. I had spoken to him a number of times and when he had left me a message, his email was @sellingmytimesharenow.com. It sounds like he runs it with another broker.

I'm not trying to argumentative here but @sellingmytimesharenow is not the same as sellmytimesharenow.

But I still could be wrong in thinking that they don't have brokers working for you, I just go by what they say.

Nah, John, you are right about them.

I was so disgusted while talking to them. They charge huge fees, and they say they are the lowest in the industry. What industry? "The upfront fee, we will put your ad on our [obscure website]," industry? Yes, they do come up on Google searches, but I read ads for one of our resorts, and many of them have the wrong MF's (some from four years ago), and one for sale ad says, "Use in 2009." We are a little past 2009.

Basically they put your listing on the site and nothing gets modified. It's ridiculous.

I made a few inquiries of ads and got the message that this is no longer available. I kind of think they don't necessarily care about matching a buyer/ renter to your ad. After all, their biz is in upfront fees, and they have THEIR money.

There is absolutely no guidance for pricing the week, so they say, "Set your price." Well, just look at some of the resorts. The set your price scenario isn't working well. The range of prices is all over the place.

Somewhat similar to Sell My Timeshare Now, has anyone used Timeshare Lifestyle to rent out their timeshare?

I haven't heard of them but, if they charge you an upfront fee, then I would stay away from them. Legitimate go-betweens for rentals would take their fee out of the rental proceeds.

If you're willing to do a little work, you might be able to have more money in your pocket (IOW, not paying a go-between) by not paying them a commission. If you wish to go that route, see the stickie here about how to rent your timeshare.
