Looking for recommendations for a place in South Shore Lake Tahoe. Would love to use some of my bonus points there. This is for a summer stay not winter. Although I will take recommendations for either summer or ski season as I will most likely return.
Thanks to all in advance.

Are these Hilton points? I don't think Tahoe has any Hiltons.

Denise is correct. There are no HGVC resorts in Lake Tahoe, though i think that would be great addition. As for Hilton Hotels, there are some various properties near Lake Tahoe in Reno, Carson City or Truckee. I don't have experience with any of those, but they should be decent. None are really "resorts" just basic hotels, so i think it would matter of which is closest to where you really want to be...

I think the OP was asking how to use their bonus points for Lake Tahoe, which means they could use them for RCI reservations or convert to HHonors points. So I think any RCI recommendations would be appreciated (I don't know the area, so I can't help out here).

Yes, sorry I should've been more precise. But yes I am looking for RCI recommendations. I know that HGVC has nothing in the Tahoe area.

Worldmark and Wyndham share a nice resort called South Shore in South Lake Tahoe which should trade through RCI. South Lake Tahoe also has a number of timeshares that are motel conversions including the Stardust which appears to have recently done interior renovations. I think they are fine as long as you understand what you are getting.

At the top of Kingsbury grade on the Nevada side of south Tahoe are a lot of timeshares. Most prominent is The Ridge. Only complaint I've ever heard was the lack of air conditioning, which (the lack of) is pretty common.

We also own in Vacation Internationale which has The Kingsbury of Tahoe property up on the ridge which we love. They exchange through both RCI and II I think.

On the north end of the lake is The Red Wolf Lakeside Lodge. We stay there most winters (RCI points) but it's almost impossible to get into in the summer. The property is right on Lake Tahoe (although only a few rooms can see it). The pool is right above the beach.

Units are rather small but very nicely done up. The property was actually built for the 1962? Olympics but to us it looks like a 1930's motor court. They do have a resort fee but you get internet and use of a variety of sporting items.

There are Marriott and Hyatt timeshare resorts around the lake but I believe they trade through II.

Thank you for the information. From what I've seen the Marriott and The Hyatt trade through II not RCI. The Wyndham is available through RCI and I am currently checking on availability. The Kingsbury was also available through RCI. I am not opposed to a hotel/motel conversion timeshare, however, there are so many particularly along the south sure that it is difficult to choose which one would be acceptable.
